John is now Non-Executive Director to several carefully selected, high growth companies in the recruitment sector. On top of his NED commitments John is Chairman of Elite Leaders.
John has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, fund raising, IPO, corporate governance, driving fast-track growth strategies, corporate finance, exit strategies, leadership development, non-executive director input and strategy facilitation.
Steve Carter, a recruitment leader with over 30 years’ experience spanning the UK, Ireland, Asia and Australia.
Steve has held executive positions in large public organisations and emerging global private staffing groups including Morgan McKinley, Premier Group, Robert Half UK, Adecco and Hays. Steve currently heads up our consulting arm, Elite Squared which provides ‘hands on’ support with strategy, creating & driving growth, performance turnaround, change programmes and leadership development via a team of experienced interim recruitment professionals. He is also a Non-Exec Director and Chairman to a select number of recruitment businesses.
Midge has 24 years experience in the staffing sector, with board level experience in large corporates, SMEs and start-ups. He has launched companies and brands, managing sales operations of up to 100 staff, including active involvement in an IPO and raising finance to support an acquisition strategy.
Most recently, in 2005, Midge co-founded the Rethink Group where he was Managing Director of London operations. Rethink has grown in excess of 50% every year since its inception and now has over 240 staff and 10 global locations, generating £140m in revenues. Two of Rethink’s brands have won industry awards – the ‘Best IT Recruitment agency’ in 2007 and the ‘Best Company to Work for’ in the 2015 REC Awards.
Midge set up and ran Rethink’s international recruitment operations and most recently has been responsible for Rethink’s marketing services, providing clients with employer branding and digital recruitment consulting. His specialisms are in building and growing recruitment businesses, marketing and branding, developing successful employer brands and attraction strategies, and setting and executing sales strategies. Midge has been a council member of the REC (the UK staffing sector’s governing body) for the last three years and is an Institute of Recruitment Professionals advocate.
Simon Michaels is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has held senior financial positions with Coopers & Lybrand, London and Gibson Appleby Chartered Accountants, Brighton. After leaving practice, Simon became a partner in RP Corporate Strategy, the privately owned Strategy Consultancy, providing business strategy advice.
He has held senior financial positions in both private and public companies including Harvey Nash Group plc., the specialist recruitment services provider. He was Finance Director of the Group’s UK & US Operations for 3 years and prior to that, Finance Director of UK Operations, having joined the business in 2000. Simon was also involved in the acquisition and integration of new businesses.
Sue’s career spans over 30 years with a number of FTSE 100 companies and city based Banks. Her roles have included Personal/Executive Assistant, Events Organiser, HR Executive and Director.
Sue has worked with Elite Leaders for the past eight years working alongside the Chairman and is involved with all aspects of the business in her role as Operations Director.
