John is now Non-Executive Director to several carefully selected, high growth companies in the recruitment sector. On top of his NED commitments John is Chairman of Elite Leaders.
John has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, fund raising, IPO, corporate governance, driving fast-track growth strategies, corporate finance, exit strategies, leadership development, non-executive director input and strategy facilitation.
Jonathan has over 20 years experience in both executive and non-executive roles within recruitment and is one of the most experienced deal makers in the sector. This includes 10 years as CEO of Alexander Mann Group working with James Caan to develop a broad base of recruitment businesses through a programme of joint venturing with talented management teams.
The business invested in 13 new business opportunities in the UK and internationally creating the leading recruitment process outsourcing business as well as a number of permanent and contract recruitment businesses. Jonathan was also CEO of Hexagon Human Capital PLC for 5 years, completing 5 acquisitions helping Hexagon achieve the highest net operating margin of any company in the sector on AIM.
Midge has 24 years experience in the staffing sector, with board level experience in large corporates, SMEs and start-ups. He has launched companies and brands, managing sales operations of up to 100 staff, including active involvement in an IPO and raising finance to support an acquisition strategy.
Most recently, in 2005, Midge co-founded the Rethink Group where he was Managing Director of London operations. Rethink has grown in excess of 50% every year since its inception and now has over 240 staff and 10 global locations, generating £140m in revenues. Two of Rethink’s brands have won industry awards – the ‘Best IT Recruitment agency’ in 2007 and the ‘Best Company to Work for’ in the 2015 REC Awards.
Midge set up and ran Rethink’s international recruitment operations and most recently has been responsible for Rethink’s marketing services, providing clients with employer branding and digital recruitment consulting. His specialisms are in building and growing recruitment businesses, marketing and branding, developing successful employer brands and attraction strategies, and setting and executing sales strategies. Midge has been a council member of the REC (the UK staffing sector’s governing body) for the last three years and is an Institute of Recruitment Professionals advocate.
Simon Michaels is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has held senior financial positions with Coopers & Lybrand, London and Gibson Appleby Chartered Accountants, Brighton. After leaving practice, Simon became a partner in RP Corporate Strategy, the privately owned Strategy Consultancy, providing business strategy advice.
He has held senior financial positions in both private and public companies including Harvey Nash Group plc., the specialist recruitment services provider. He was Finance Director of the Group’s UK & US Operations for 3 years and prior to that, Finance Director of UK Operations, having joined the business in 2000. Simon was also involved in the acquisition and integration of new businesses.
Simon has over 20 years mainboard experience in the Telecoms and Networking, IT and Recruitment markets. He was founding Managing Director of two companies and has also been on the main board of two firms through IPO. Simon has initiated, planned and implemented organisational change; re-skilling and re-focusing sales and business development initiatives in two LSE listed staffing companies, Glotel plc and Parity plc. As Sales Director at Rethink, Simon helped the business achieve phenomenal market-leading, award-winning growth, increasing profitable revenues from £12.5m to >£50m.
As a Chair at Elite Leaders, coaching and supporting recruitment and staffing company owners and senior managers who work together for personal, company and above all, mutual benefit for growth and business development. Simon provides advice and guidance to recruitment companies wanting to achieve profitable growth through business expansion and development, providing Board level leadership and all levels of sales leadership, market and client development, retention and acquisition, planning and implementing organisational change, non-executive directorship.
Sue’s career spans over 30 years with a number of FTSE 100 companies and city based Banks. Her roles have included Personal/Executive Assistant, Events Organiser, HR Executive and Director.
Sue has worked with Elite Leaders for the past eight years working alongside the Chairman and is involved with all aspects of the business in her role as Operations Director.
Steve Wright is a commercially experienced senior Executive with a track record spanning over 25 years in fast moving IT services entities, embracing Hardware, Software, Technology based Training, Talent Management and Recruitment; additionally, he has also had senior Finance roles with Retail and Healthcare Management organisations. His experience includes Corporate Strategy, Financial Planning and Performance management, Business turnaround, Acquisition negotiation, structuring, deal completion and integration, Exit completion, and Equity Fund raising.
Steve has operated at senior Management roles including CEO, CFO, and Finance Director in AIM listed and private corporates.
Steve’s Corporate experience is wide including AIM listed Rethink Group Plc which he delisted in 2014, and another AIM listed business, Hot Group which was sold to Trinity Mirror Group in 2005, Computer People part of the Delphi Group sold to Adecco in 1999, Thomson NETG, Virgin Group where he was part of the turnaround team that transformed Virgin Retail. He is a Chartered Accountant, qualifying with the London office of Ernst & Young.
